Bagurumba, the Bodo folk dance

Bodo-Kachri is a large ethnic community living for the centuries in Indian state of Assam. They also live in some other parts of North-East India and Nepal. They have a unique linguistic and cultural heritage and the term “Bodo” refers to a particular clan, of which the former Kachari kings were a part. Although they don’t practice the same religion as some of them belong to Hinduism, some practice Christianity and some have embraced Bathouism; yet they all have preserved their unique life style and traditions.

Lovely Mountain Peaks of the Lovely Planet

The highest Mountain Peaks of the world are found in the Southern and Central Asian region. Most of them are located in the Himalaya and Karakoram Mountain ranges. There are fourteen mountain peaks on the mother earth which have the elevation of more than 8,000 meters. We have added separate articles for each of the 14 highest Mountain peaks in our website. You can browse for them in the “Natural Wonders” or “Places” categories.

A Mountain Peak is a solid mass which is normally steeper in its shape and which has an upward dimension covering a specific area of the land. They are made of rocks and other earth materials. The taller mountains of the world live in the colder parts of the world and their tops remain snow covered through out the year. The other chatacteristics of the mountain are their elevation, volume, relief, steepness, spacing and continuity.  Some of the Mountain Peaks are so high that the plantation hardly grow on their higher elevations. Normally, the most of the mountains are not found fit for the human inhabitation due to their harsher climate so they are naturally preserved. However, they are threatened being used for logging, mining and grazing.

Following are some images of the lovely mountain peaks of the lovely planet ;

Lovely Glaciers of the Lovely Planet

Our lovely planet earth has enormous features which are probably so unique as compare to other planets of the solar system. In colder regions of the earth many huge ice masses are lying with their mute eminence and majesty. These massive glacial structures are known as Glaciers which are actually ice bodies existing for centuries. Most of these Glaciers are found in Antarctic regions but there are also many glaciers in the high rise mountain zones of the earth. Glaciers are the purest fresh water reserves on earth and they are also the source of many rivers, lakes and other water bodies. Glaciers are ultimately equally helpful for animals, humans and for the whole of biodiversity. Following are some of the lovely glaciers of the lovely planet earth ;
