She has been nominated for the International Peace Prize for children and she has become the first Pakistani young girl to achieve such success. This is certainly prideful for the whole Pakistani nation especially in a time when Pakistan is suffering from terrorism and extremism in the name of religion. She is Malala Yusufzai or Malala Yousafzai, a 13 years old girl who belongs to Pakistani Switzerland, Swat, a heaven on heath which was burning two years before due to the atrocities caused by Taliban.

Malala Yusufzai has worked for the cause of the people of Swat specially writing under a pseudonym during the barbarous regime of Taliban and raising the voice of freedom , peace and love. She has proved herself as a great philanthropist who felt real pain when the educational institutes were destroyed by the Taliban ruthlessly. Malala Yusufzai used to write a diary for BBC in that she elaborated the grief and dejection of her Swati brothers and sisters. It was a time for great melancholy when Swat was facing a military operation and the people of the city of this young girl Maingora were murdered brutally and their dead bodies were hanged. Mulla Fazl u llah had completely banned the education of children and nobody dared from the electronic or print media of the country to highlight the situation. Malala Yusufzai became courageous and started writing with her pen name “Gul Makai” and exposed the nefariousness and enormity of the extremists and explicated their actual and obnoxious face before the world.

Malala Yusufzai, the young pride of Pakistan was announced as one of the top five children from the world by a Dutch organization working for the kids’ rights and her name was announced by the South African Nobel laureate, Desmund Tutu few weeks before. Malala Yusufzai who is a children political rights activist has an ambition to become a fair politician in future and to work for the betterment of her society. The Government of Pakistan has also announced a cash prize of Rs. 500,000 for her services and awarded her with Pakistan Peace Prize for children. The Lovely Planet team certainly pays salute to this young lady and wishes her more courage, determination and will to achieve all the goals which she keeps in her mind.
